Asus eee pad EP121 hybrid tablet

We spoke about this 12″ tablet EP121 from Asus earlier, when it was introduced at the Computex 2010. I would like to call it a hybrid tablet as it is a cross between a tablet and the netbook, and has the best of both worlds.

Asus eeePad EP101TC, EP121, and eee Tablet at Computex 2010

Asus had several devices on display. This one called the eeePad is a 10″ device running windows embedded compact 7. Its win CE with a really fancy UI. There were several widgets on the home screen, an e-reader application, opera browser.

The eeePad EP121 has a 12″ screen, a core 2 duo CULV processor, a docking station cum keyboard, a 10 hour battery life and runs windows 7.

They also had on display the eeeTablet that is a digital note taking device. A 2450 dpi touch screen that accepts input from a magnetic pen, not a typical touch screen. A dark metallic finish with a 2 MP camera at the back. This comes with a 10 hour battery life too.

These devices come with a starting price of around $199, and should be available after September this year.  Well, exciting times are ahead ..

Asus ePad running windows 7 at Computex 2010

Asus shows it ePad, slim clean looking with a metallic finish, it has all the required interfaces – SD card reader, USB ports, web cam.. and its running windows 7.
