Jetstar, the budget airline subsidiary of Qantas, has announced it is launching a trial iPad rental service on its planes.

Risking damaging wine spills and customers taking an iPad ‘to go’, the Global Mundo Tapas eatery at the Rydges Hotel in North Sydney introduced its new menus three days ago – within a week of the iPad’s Australian release.
A custom-made iPad application allows customers to browse the menu, see what the dish looks like, suggest the best wines, food pairings, how they’d like the meat cooked and view tasting notes. Then finally they can compile the order and send it wirelessly to the kitchen!

LG Display has shipped about 800,000-900,000 9.7-inch iPad panels in May, up from over 700,000 units in April, 470,000 units in March, and 300,000 units in February.
Samsung Electronics, joining the game, will start volume shipments of 9.7-inch panels for the Apple iPad in July with monthly shipments reaching 300,000-500,000 units, according to market sources.
