Samsung files patent for double-sided touchscreen Tablets

Samsung has filed a patent application for a “Mobile terminal having dual touch screen and method of controlling content therein”. The dual touchscreen tablet will have a large traditional touchscreen on the front, and a second touch sensitive layer at the back of the device, allowing for additional touch control gestures, and operation patterns.

Sharp develops new chip for Dual-screen mobile devices

Sharp Corp has developed a new chip, dubbed “LR388G9″ that controls the LCDs of mobile devices and can simultaneously output two different 1024 x 480 pixel (Half XGA) content on two LCD panels. The chip can also display 1920 x 1080 (full HD) video to an external display via HDMI.
