ViewSonic’s 10″ Tablet dual boots to Android and Windows 7

ViewSonic’s 7″ Viewpad 7 Tablet PC is definitely popular as there has been a lot information available on this device. ViewSonic is also planning the launch of a larger Tablet with a 10″ screen, and while Tablets Unelashed had reported about this earlier, the only tidbit know about it was that it would be able to dual boot into two operating systems – Android and Windows 7.

However, thanks to IFA 2010, we now have a lot more to report on the thus far elusive, and as of yet unnamed, 10″ Tablet PC from ViewSonic. This slightly larger sibling of the ViewPad 7 will be powered by an Intel Atom N455 processor and 1 GB of RAM. It should also feature a 16 GB SSD for storage, a 10″ 16:9 capacitive touch screen display with a 1024 x 600 resolution.

The most unique capability of this Tablet PC device would be the dual OS, and its ability to boot into both Android 1.6, and Windows 7. I know, with the dual OS as its USP, the least ViewSonic could have done is give it the current version of Android – FroYo, if not upgrade to the next version – Android Gingerbread. However, for some strange reason Android 1.6 is all you have for now (Dell Streak and Sony Ericsson X10, you have company).

Well, that is all we have. It is still not a lot of detail. We still do not have an official name for the tablet device,or a price point or a precise launch date either. Keep coming back to Tablets unleashed for more details as and when we get it ..
