Quantcast has reported their findings from interesting study on Mobile Internet consumption patterns and the OS of the device used for Mobile Web consumption.
As one would expect, the Apple iOS is the leader cornering 56% of the Mobile web consumption market share. However, what is notable is that Apple iOS had more than a two-thirds market share last year, and has conceded 11.4 % to Android in the last one year.
Android in its turn has performed extremely and consistently well, and is currently responsible for generating 25 % of the Mobile Web traffic. What is commendable is it had a mere 6% market share last year and has increased more than 300 % during the year, gaining market share from all other Mobile operating systems.
Again, with Microsoft revamping its Mobile OS, launching the Windows Phone 7, with the expected launch of Mobile devices, (including Smartphones, and Tablet PCs,) with the MeeGo operating system, later this year, and with more devices launching with HP’s WebOS, and Google’s Chrome OS, the situation same time next year could be very different.
My prediction would be that Android will continue its dream run, while Apple iOS continues to fall (only because the competition is catching up), and will end up with a tie in terms of market share. I am also hopeful forthe MeeGo OS, however, it will still be a distant second to the market leaders -Android, and iOS. What are your thoughts. Please let us know through your comments ..

Android’s are going to take over the world, iPhones do not have a chance, neither do ipads.
