Toshiba Libretto dual screen tablet to debut in Japan on 11th Aug

We have heard talk of several dual screen tablet devices earlier, the entourage edge, the Microsoft Courier, the Kno tablet, and the Toshiba Libretto W100, however, we are yet to see any of these hit the retail stores.

Well, if you are one of the frustrated lot waiting for a dual screen tablet PC, your wait should soon be over. The Toshiba Libretto W100 is expected to debut on the 11th August in Japan first. Though Toshiba had earlier promised a summer launch of the tablet device in the US, it was not to be. The rest of world will need to continue their wait for a little longer.

The Toshiba Libretto W100 features dual 7″ multi-touch screens each with a 1024 x 600 pixels resolution, its powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Pentium U5400 processor, and 2 GB RAM, storage is in the formof a 64 GB SSD, and Microsoft Windows 7 will be the OS of choice. Steve Ballmer can finally breathe a bit easy now.

A USB port, micro SD card slot, integrated camera, bluetooth, and an 8 cell battery complete the rest of the specs. The price still seems to be steep at $1099, but that was already expected.
