August 14th, 2010Folks at Modaco forums have unearthed a leaked Android 2.1 upgrade for the Dell Streak in UK. This build is apprently for locked O2 devices only. The update seems to be coming from Dell themselves, though it is unofficial, still not final, and Dell haven’t announced this yet .
Many users, however, are reporting a successful with this build. Some of the features included in this new build are - 720P video recording capability, a much improved keyboard, and Live Wallpapers.
Excited yet. Well, we have to let you know, the standard disclaimer will still apply.
In the meanwhile, Dell has opened up the Dell Streak ordering page for the US, and the tablet phone device is still shipping with Android 1.6., and still SIM-locked to the AT&T network. For a change the Brits seem to be getting all the goodies. Mr Dell is not happy with the yanks for some reason.
