HTC Sabor rumors – phone or tablet?

This bit of news is as good as it gets. Ozcarguide has had a tipster let them in on a new HTC device called Sabor.

“The upcoming HTC smartphone destined for Sprint packs a 2GHz processor, over 1000 resolution display, Android OS 2.5 / 3.0 Gingerbread, 2 cameras with one being a 10-megapixel, 1080p video recording and built-in kickstand.”

Motorola CEO, Sanjay Jha, has already been talking about a 2 GHz (most likely a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor) Motorola Android phone by the end of the year. While it will be Verizon that will get the phone in its line-up, Sprint seems to be busy with getting their own flagship model ready.

HTC is also apparently working on a new display technology of its own that could rival Samsung’s Super AMOLED, and the Sabor could be first device to feature this screen. The Sabor should also have 2 cameras, one of 10 MP with 1080P video capture, and a kickstand.

This also seems to be tying a a lot of threads together. We spoke about the leak regarding the upcoming Android Gingerbread OS. It supposedly demands min hardware requirements that include a screen larger than 3.5″, and a resolution of 1280 x 760.

The Sabor is expected to launch end of 2010 (or early 2011), just in time for another HTC Sabor Vs Motorola showdown, just like the one between HTC Evo 4G Vs Motorola Droid X, we are seeing now. And if this what the phones will be, end of 2010, i look forward to see how the tablets would look like.
