Acer announces a 7″ and a 10″ Android Tablet PC for Q4 2010

Acer, that had earlier announced a 7″ tablet eBook Reader, is now going to have a larger 10″ sibling, both of them scheduled to launch in the last quarter of this year. Both units are going to be powered by ARM processors, run Android version 2.2 FroYo, and come with complete Adobe Flash support, and be focussed on multimedia and entertainment capabilities, to differentiate themselves from Acer’s eBook readers - a 6″ gray-scale, and a 7″ color eBook reader.

Both the Acer tablet PCs should have integrated 3G connectivity, and Acer is said to be in discussions with Taiwan telecom carrier, Far EasTone, for integrating a data backbone that could be bundled with the device, and also offer subsidized pricing. Picture on the left shows the Acer color eBook reader.
