Announced back in Mar 2010, the WePad (or WeTab as it is now called) comes with a lage 11.6″ 1366×768 screen, an Intel atom N450 1.66GHz processor, GMA 3150 for graphics, a webcam, 2 USB ports, built in speakers, bluetooth, wifi, optional GPS, flash card slot, SIM card slot, ambient light and motion sensor, and a host of other interfaces.
Its claim to fame – “fast Internet connectivity, a complete world of ready-to-use applications and easy access to books and photos, as well as magazines and newspapers from various publishers via the WeMagazine ePublishing Eco System.” It also based on google’s Android OS. So there is also access to the google Android marketplace along with its own WePad AppStore.
Further, there is also support for multitaskng, and Flash / Adobe Air. There will be a two different models available. The WiFi with 16GB of memory will retail for € 449 while the fully-spec’d 32GB, 3G model that also includes GPS and a full HD 1080p display will cost €569. A soft launch is scheduled for July with full availability shortly after that.
